Being an informed customer is a big part of a smooth countertop project. Here are a few things worth knowing before you start, so there are no surprises along the way.
Step by step
Templating
Templating is the precise measurement of your job. One of our template technicians comes to your home and carefully takes the final measurements of your space, so your countertops are cut to fit exactly right.

Preparations
- All cabinets are completely and permanently installed (including end panels and fillers) and perfectly level.
- If anything changes with your cabinets after we template, call us right away.
- All appliances and fixtures (sinks, soap dispensers, cooktops, ranges, refrigerator, and so on) are on site.
- Any farmhouse (apron-front) sink is installed, centered in the sink cabinet, and flush with the top of the cabinets.
- Your material, color, and edge profile have been selected.

Scheduling your appointment
- Once your countertops are paid for and the payment is processed, your Project Coordinator reaches out to schedule your template appointment.
- Please finish everything in Step 1 before you schedule, and make sure a decision maker over the age of 18 will be present.

Day of your template
- You will receive your appointment time a day or two before.
- Your template technician will contact you about 30 minutes before arrival.
- Please clear off your existing countertops before they arrive.
- A decision maker over the age of 18 must be on site the entire time.
- Templating takes as little as 30 minutes for a small job, or 2 to 3 hours for a large one.
Timeline
From template to installation, turnaround is typically 1 to 3 weeks.
Step by step
Installation
01
Preparations
- Your plumbing has been disconnected, including all supply and drain lines, the garbage disposal, and any piece you plan to keep. We do not perform plumbing, so please have a plumber handle this before install day.
- Old countertops, sinks, and appliances have been removed, unless you have arranged tear-out with us. Tear-out does not include disconnecting or reconnecting plumbing.
- Your base (lower) cabinets are emptied, and the top drawers are removed.
- The path to the install site is clear, including a safe walkway free of snow or debris.

Scheduling your appointment
- Once fabrication is finished, your Project Coordinator gives you a projected installation date.
- We confirm the time window one to two days before installation.
- A decision maker over the age of 18 should be present for the entire installation.

Day of your installation
- You will receive your appointment time a day or two before.
- Your installer will contact you about 30 minutes before arrival.
- Please double-check that cabinets are cleared, there is room to bring in the countertops, and the plumbing is shut off.
- A decision maker over the age of 18 must be on site the entire time.
- Installation takes as little as 1 hour for a small job, or 3 to 6 hours for a large one.

After your installation
- We walk the finished job with you and make sure everything is approved.
- Please do not use the sink for at least 24 hours so the sink adhesive can set.
Good to know
- We take great care during installation. Even so, minor scrapes or dings to walls, cabinetry, or an existing backsplash can happen and are incidental to the work. Repairing those is the customer's responsibility.
- Appointments are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We confirm by call or text one day before, with an arrival window.
- If you ever have a question about timing, just call your Project Coordinator.
